Systemic leadership development and sustainability transformation

The work I do is about expanding what is possible: for individuals navigating significant transitions, for teams that need to think and work differently together, and for organisations building the kind of capability that makes complex change tractable rather than exhausting.

In practice, this tends to be most useful in one of three situations: something is not moving at a team or organisational level despite genuine effort; a leader is navigating a significant transition and needs a thinking partner; or an organisation wants to build real and lasting capability that changes how people think and act, not just what they know.

These situations often overlap. Whether the engagement takes the form of board governance session, coaching, or a structured learning programme usually becomes clearer through conversation. A good starting point is a conversation about what is going on and what kind of engagement might be useful. That conversation carries no obligation on either side.

Expanding What is Possible

Continuous Year-Round Offerings

In-person facilitation for directors and executive committees.

Boards are increasingly expected to govern sustainability risks they do not yet fully understand. This is particularly true in the context of CSRD and TNFD, where nature-related disclosure requirements reshape what boards must account for. The gap between what sustainability teams know and what directors can act on has become a governance risk in its own right.

The Board Briefings are in-person sessions designed for boards and executive committees to build genuine nature, climate, and sustainability literacy that enables the board members to ask the right questions of management and govern sustainability with confidence.

Participants leave with a clear, fiduciary sense of how environmental dependencies connect to the business, and a practical understand of where the real business risks and opportunities lie.

Periodic & Cohort-Based Offerings

Monthly group sessions for sustainability professionals.

From cross-functional resistance, governance gaps, and the difficulty of influencing without formal authority, sustainability professionals face unique challenges in organisations. They must both have deep technical expertise while also having a strategic understanding of the organisation they operate in. They are often the only ones in the room who holds the full complexity of the challenge. Peer Learning Circles are designed to change that.

Each circle brings together six to ten sustainability professionals from non-competing organisations for monthly sessions built around shared real-world experience. Participants bring their live organisational challenges for the group to explore together and create an opportunity for shared learning under Chatham House Rule.

Participants gain peer-level backing for their own thinking, practical insight into how other organisations are navigating the same challenges, and a community that is genuinely useful and not just professionally validating.

Programmes running during fixed windows across the year, bringing together a select group of professionals from different organisations.

Bespoke Engagements

Structured, time-bounded engagements for leaders navigating sustainability transitions.

For leaders navigating professional challenges in the sustainability domain, I offer focused 1-on-1 coaching engagements built around a clear, structured process.

The engagements can integrate outdoor intensive days that leverage natural environments to create greater clarity for complex decision-making, surfacing strategic perspectives that an office environment tends to restrict.

Executive Coaching

Beyond the two core offerings above, I partner with a select number of organisations and leaders each year on highly targeted engagements designed around a specific challenge or transition. These include executive coaching, team development, and strategic partnership work.

Team & Leadership Development

Experiential working sessions and nature immersions for leadership teams.

For intact leadership teams and cross-functional groups facing a genuine challenge within sustainability, I design experiential working sessions and nature immersions that go beyond what a conventional offsite can offer.

By taking teams out of their built environments and into nature, we create the conditions for the kind of thinking, honesty, and relational trust that is hard to develop during normal conditions. The distance from daily pressure creates the space for the kind of conversation that does not happen in meeting rooms, and those conversations tend to matter the most.

Together, we uncover the assumptions, competing commitments, and patterns of behaviour that limit the team’s effectiveness. We build the relational trust and shared direction that genuine transformation requires.

Keynotes

I speak at events and leadership forums on systemic leadership, sustainability transformation, and the human dynamics of complex change. If you are organising an event and are looking for a speaker who will leave the room with something to think about, I would be glad to hear about it.
